Weapons Project Research

For the weapon's project, I'm thinking of doing some cool designs for traditional weapons, such as a scythe. The kind of game I'm going for is a game with a grim reaper, but with a much more urban and sort of twist on the whole "dark and morbid" thing.

Final Room Render

From where I left off, I added more to the table and background. The render from last week is below:

I added posters of monsters and movies in the background to give it a more grungy, funky flair, as well as adding a few little knick knacks such as pretty ornate vases and coasters on the table. A door is also in the background. However, the room is still incomplete:

To edit the final picture, I decided to put in a sky in the window. Going into photoshop, I placed a sky picture under the picture of the room, and deleted the glowing white light from the room. The final result, and my final render is below:
In the end, I sort of went away from my original gothic castle plan in exchange for a more moody, subtle dark room. While I didn't stay true to my original plan, I am still happy with the results of my work. I only wish I knew how much of the room was going to appear in the render- I made way too much furniture. However, overall, I am pleased with this project.

Week 3.5

For this week, I finished texturing all of my objects, choosing a bright red for the couches, grey wood for the other part of the couches, brown wood for the tables, and marble for the tiny side table. The window lighting has also been started, although I still have a lot of editing to do before it is complete. I also added in a dark rug and a texture on the wall to give the room a more complete vibe. The sort of grungy, moody look I was going for can definitely been seen.

Week 2

This is what I have done so far more my rooms. I've completed all of the furniture, minus the lampshade which is easily made. My room is going to be fairly dark and classy in appearance, featuring a sort of gothic atmosphere with a lot of deep reds and blacks.

The first and last picture feature the furniture I've completed making, while the middle picture shows the furniture I have so far. The furniture has a dark, leathery texture. I want the table to be wood, but I need some help adjusting the texture.
